Miguel Monteiro

Hello, my name is Miguel, and I am a machine learning scientist with around ten years of experience across academia (Imperial, MSR) and industry. I am currently Principal Machine Learning Scientist at Qureight, where I lead the ML team working on 3D foundation models for medical imaging, generative models, and 3D segmentation models deployed in clinical trials.

I completed my PhD at Imperial College London in the BioMedIA group under the supervision of Professor Ben Glocker. My research focused on computer vision, deep learning, probabilistic models and causal inference, with publications in NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and The Lancet Digital Health — over 1,300 citations on Google Scholar (h-index 14). More details are available in the PhD section and the Publications section.

While completing my PhD, I interned at Microsoft Research. Before that, I worked as a researcher at INESC-ID with Professor Arlindo Oliveira. You can find my professional experience record in the Experience section.

I completed a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and a dual MSc degree at IST and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). More details are available in the Education Section.

In addition to my publications, I have also given several talks about my work which can be found in the Talks section.
